“Fans of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice will love this story! This novel has all the benefits of a dark fairy tale while embracing its true genre of dark fantasy horror. The story opens with a struggle of the crown vs. an evil uprising then transitions to a modern day Joshua Bane and his magical beginnings. The story is magical, devious, and compelling. Joshua is a sympathetic MC as he tries to figure his destiny out on the fly. I always enjoy the trope of an aloof savior. No matter his destiny, his hearts mission is to reunite with his sister, and it’s pretty endearing. Additionally, I found the rune creations and usage extremely interesting. There were also plenty of twists and turns along the way. There is a good bit of time jumping, but I felt the author made it easy to follow and understand. If dark fantasy is your genre, then this book is certainly for you.”

Joshua and Ashley are twins abandoned by their biological parents. They grow up in an orphanage in Russia, in a place called Child Hills. They are very font to each other, and they are inseparable. One day, Ashley is adopted at the age of seven by a couple, who will reveal them to be evil to the core. From that day Joshua is alone in the orphanage. He goes through a rough time, bullied, and mistreated by the nuns, who instead of taking care of his fragile situation treat him very badly and bullied by the other kids for his peculiar features. Joshua has suicidal thoughts and falls into a deep depression. One day when Joshua reaches his eighth birthday, a British couple adopts him. He moves to London. Life finally is kind to him but not for exceedingly long. At the age of sixteen, Joshua comes back from school and finds his adopted parents brutally killed by an evil entity. That traumatic experience awakens his inherited powers, which he will use to figure out who killed them and to find his twin sister, who is nowhere to be found. Years have passed and even though he has a nice life, he is rich and has a job that he loves, something is still missing, a hole too big to fill, and he does the impossible to find his twin sister. He travels the world, and he will be facing dark magic and monsters, but most importantly he will be facing his inner demons.

It is a thrilling battle between dark and light, a roller-coaster of emotions, betrayal, murders, and twisted schemes. Many secrets will be uncovered and nothing nor anyone will stop Joshua to stop Her and reunite with his lost family. A fantastic story with parallel dimensions, magical spells, and evil creatures. A love story between Joshua and Cesar who is the love of his life but sealed by dreadful fate.
