When a speakeasy queen is blackmailed by a corrupt politician, the only one that can help her is the prohibition agent investigating her.

Maggie Worth is a twenty-five-year-old runaway bootlegging celebrity, infamous for wild, glamorous parties at her speakeasy where the liquor flows despite strict prohibition laws. These laws are enforced by agents like the self-assured Frank Marino. He only wants to protect the beautiful and headstrong Queen of the Night from the ugly side of prohibition, but she only sees a handsome dry agent trying to padlock her club.

When New York City’s corrupt mayor gets into trouble, he threatens to ruin Maggie unless she agrees to serve him personally and keep Agent Marino distracted. This is made all the more difficult when Frank begins to fall for Julia, the wild girl that ran away from home years ago to become Maggie. As Julia’s dream life begins to fall apart around her, she longs for home again. But, she needs Frank’s help to escape the mayor’s threats and her mob-boss partner, and leave Maggie’s legacy untarnished.
