My name’s Kindra and I am the BGR (The Bubblegum Review), an independent reviewer, writer, (beta) reader and all-around lover of independent books from self-published authors and small presses.

WHY THE BUBBLEGUM REVIEW?

It’s my two cents, which is basically worth the 99 cents it once took to buy a piece of bubblegum. But you also can’t blow bubbles with stars. (or repair a pair of eyeglasses or stop heartburn) I started BGR in 2019 after experiencing difficulty with finding reviews for my own indie book. The more diamonds (in the rough) I found, the more curious and excited I became and the more I loved it! I’m still here contributing what I initially found lacked with my indie book: Honest, unafraid, affordable, shrewd and diverse feedback independent and in spite of the zeitgeist and personal beliefs. I publish The BGR newsletter on Substack about 1x month for both free and a nominal fee. I operate a website (since 2021) where I principally do business as A Packed Lunch and other sub-entities such as The Bubblegum Review.
