“Courtney’s writing style flows naturally and is directly to the point. She gives readers just enough detail and character development without getting in the weeds and bogging down the story. In my opinion, Courtney’s best asset as a writer is her characters and how they interact. In Doctor’s Orders, we have naive Gwen, dreadful Chris, complex Jace, and mean Katie. As Gwen tries to find her place in the world, Jace tries to break out of the dreaded friend zone, while Chris…. Well, you’ll just have to start reading to discover his loathsomeness. So curl up on the couch, listen to the rain, read Doctor’s Orders, and enjoy some me time.”

Dr. Edwards is handsome, wealthy, and charming. But he will turn your life upside down. Is it too late for his new nurse?

Gwen and Jace share a bond that few people experience, having been best friends and neighbors since the age of five. Deeper feelings have been bubbling under the surface of their hearts for years. However, that is all tested when Gwen lands her first nursing job under the confident womanizer, Dr. Christopher Edwards, who not only offers money, chiseled abs, and charm but, above all, wants Gwen as his own.

Gwen has very little adult experience to help her navigate this path, contrasting wildly with Jace, whose wit and wisdom never run dry. When Chris’s rocky past comes to light, Gwen is faced with the harsh reality that she is only one of many Chris has fooled and left to deal with the aftermath of his games.

Will Jace and Gwen finally teach Chris a lesson once and for all? Or is the lesson that maybe they need Chris just as much as he needs them?
