“What a great story! I loved the beautiful descriptions of locations and characters; I could fully envision them without being overwhelmed by world building, they were just there. Loved the twist as things got moving sci-fi wise. Lots of action and adventure, but not formulaic. Looking forward to further adventures!”

Following her estranged Aunt Esmerelda’s disappearance, twenty-year-old Kate is drawn back to her aunt’s house where she spent a magical childhood summer she can’t remember. Once there, she isn’t prepared for the way the house speaks to her, the strange dreams, the long-forgotten memories that resurface, or the way she can paint when she’s in the house.

When she’s granted a coveted spot in an exclusive art exhibit but must produce ten more pieces, Kate moves into the house to channel the elusive creativity she can only find there. Instead she finds her aunt’s hidden journal.

From the pages of the journal, Kate discovers her family comes from a long line of travelers whoexplore other worlds by stepping through doors only they can see. And her aunt —whom Kate’smother is determined to have declared dead so she can sell the house —is really trapped in another dimension, held captive against her will. Now it’s up to Kate, with the help of new and old friends, to find her…before time runs out.
