Finn and Dax thought they had longer before Finn took his father’s seat on the throne. Long enough for Dax to finish university, maybe tick a few countries on Dax’s optimistic global bucket list. But the king couldn’t wait until a day after Finn’s graduation to hand the burden of a dying monarchy to his eldest child. Finn is just twenty-five and determined he will save the monarchy without sacrificing his true love with Dax.

Abdication

Finn get his moment to sit on the throne as he is crowned as the king. It finally feels real as his father, and all the government officials have to kneel before him. But one person is missing. The only person he needs to see on his knees more than anyone else in the entire country. Dax thought he could stand by Finn’s side during his coronation as king, but in the end, he can only watch from the side. It isn’t how he wanted to be introduced to the world as Finn’s partner. A cheeky photo and begging for forgiveness bring the pair closer, as Dax commits to his new king in his own way. And Finn wouldn’t want it any other way.

Finn’s first meeting with the Prime Minister goes far better than Finn could hope for. While Dax’s plans to modernise the palace don’t go down well with all the staff, leaving him with some enemies.

Family

Finn sits down with each of his family to introduce the first of his big changes, and his news certainly goes down better with some of the family than others. Finn gives them an ultimatum that they either work with him or against him when it comes to saving the monarchy. Dax struggles to adjust to his new role and very public lifestyle from the confines of his wheelchair.
