Rubi is the youngest child of a famed rebellion leader, and also a Collector – a rare human sorcerer. Unbound by the laws of natural magic, it is said that a Collector can learn to do anything imaginable. Onboard her ship and far from human cities, she is free of the politics and hatred between humanity and magical beings. Things are better this way. She has the time to chase her own needs and leave a place whenever she pleases. Then one day, a pair of mysterious drifters with blue striped cheeks board her ship of misfits, and fate engulfs her and her friends into unimaginable danger. Now dragged into the fray, Rubi must harness her power and strive to protect the youngest of the immortals, a seven year old girl with the limitless potential to become a savior or a monster.
