D. S. Bertolo was born in 1995 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but is currently a resident of Knoxville, Tennessee. Although Remtessi is Bertolo’s first published novel, he has been creating and telling stories since childhood. Bertolo is a restaurant manager, speech contest winner, drummer, video game enthusiast, and an unapologetic weirdo. In 2017, Bertolo expressed his stresses and frustrations with his schooling and work life by writing Remtessi. Through fantasy and action, Bertolo hopes that Remtessi becomes relatable entertainment that can provoke readers to analyze how much stress they take on in their lives.
